On April 7th, Bella Croisier and her Northern Ontario rink, captured the Gold medal at the Canadian Under-18 Championships in Sherwood Park, AB.
The team finished preliminary pool play with a record of 5-1 which advanced them into the championship double-knockout round. They defeated British Columbia and New Brunswick, both by a 7-4 score, to advance to the semi-finals. In the semi-final, they again defeated New Brunswick and off to the golf medal game they went! In the gold medal game, the team faced Ontario. The game started off very close with Northern Ontario leading 2-1 after 4 ends. In the 5th and 6th ends, they stole 2 points to break the game open and secure the championship!
Congratulations Northern Ontario - Bella Croisier, Jamie Smith, Piper Croisier, Lauren Rajala and coach, Shawn Croisier. It has been such an incredible year for this young, talented team and we are so honoured to be their curling home. We look forward to continuing to watch this team excel in years to come!
